Stretched Mount - Image Wraps - 2.5" Deep - Canvas

The canvas print will be mounted over 2.5 inch thick (depth) stretcher bars and the image will wrap on the sides with a fraction of an inch around the back. In almost all cases these are hung without a frame.

Tip: Always keep in mind the amount of image which will wrap. The online preview tool will show you how the image will be positioned and wrap so pay close attention to where elements of the image are located. For instance, if you are an artist you don't want your signature to wrap around underneath. If you are a portrait photographer you probably don't want too much or a person in a photo to wrap around the top. If you are an advanced user and sizing an image first in preparation for ordering on this mounting frame, you will want to add a total of 5 inches to the width and height to account for the 2 1/2 inch which wraps on every side. This means a 20x16 as illustrated in the example picture needed to actually measured or cropped as 25x21 inches to get a perfect fit.

The canvas print will be mounted over .75 inch thick (depth) stretcher bars and the image will wrap on the sides with a fraction of an inch around the back. These are usually hung without a frame. Great option for smaller prints given as gifts and mementos.

Tip: If you plan to order something larger than a 16x20, it is highly recommended that you select a "thick" or "grand" mount instead of a thin mount. While we reluctantly allow our customers to select larger sizes with an image wrap on the "thin" mount, we agree with many professionals which have indicated a larger print with an image wrap on such a thin frame may be perceived as being cheap or poor quality.

Stretched Mount - Image on Front - 3/4" Deep - Canvas

The canvas print will be mounted over 3/4 inch thick (depth) stretcher bars. These prints are meant to be inserted into a frame. You can also choose to have the sides a different color than plain white.

Tip: If you do plan to hang this print unframed and you plan to order something larger than a 16x20, it is highly recommended that you select a "thick" or "grand" mount instead of a thin mount. We are frequently told by professional artists and photographers their prints displayed unframed sell better when on the "thick" and "grand" mounting. If you want to match the color on the sides to a specific color in your image, when ordering you can manually enter the hexadecimal value of the color you want. Most image editing programs allow you to select a color within the image and will provide you that hexadecimal value.

Drymounted - Artboard X Thick - Canvas

Flush mounted canvas on your choice of double thick archival white or black artboard. This provides a firm surface for canvas prints and makes them easy to insert in most photo or poster frames. The canvas is printed approximately 1/10 of an inch larger to give the required amount of bleed to ensure a clean borderless mounted canvas.

Tip: Due to the nature of fiber based board some warping does occur, therefore we do not offer sizes larger than 20x30. Once in a frame with a supportive backing any warping will be corrected.

Drymounted - Gatorboard - 3/16" Thick - Canvas

Your print will be flush mounted/borderless to this 3/16” thick board. Lightweight and rigid, gatorboard is a remarkable improvement to the standard foam core. Gatorboard is now the favored alternative to foam core among many artists and photographers.

Tip: Artists typically choose white as their color of choice while photographers tend to prefer black.

Gatorboard - 3/16" Thick - 2" border - Paper

Your 2 inch bordered print will be mounted to this 3/16” thick board. Lightweight, and rigid gatorboard is a remarkable improvement to standard foam core. Gatorboard is now the favored alternative to foam core among many artists and photographers.

Tip: Many artists and photographers choose bordered prints so they have a place to add things such as their signature and numbering to their prints. This style is to meet the needs of artists and photographers requiring both a mounted print as well as extra border space.

Gatorboard - 1/2" Thick - Paper

Artboard Mounted Extra Thick - Paper

Flush mounted/borderless on your choice of double thick archival white or black artboard for paper prints at an affordable price. Artboard provides a firm surface for prints intended for framing and automatically increases the perceived value and quality of the print. The print will be borderless and trimmed to be flush with the artboard. Custom sizes up to 20x30”. Artists that display prints on artboard may want to secure larger prints behind matting or in a transparent sleeve and secured to a corrugated sheet. When the print is properly framed, any slight warping will be corrected.

Tip: In order to accomplish borderless printing the image will be enlarged approximately by 1/10 to 1/8 of an inch to give the appropriate amount of bleed necessary for cutting. Customers should be careful of any subject matter that is at the very edge of the image such as signatures so they are not trimmed.

Dibond Mounted - Paper

Flush mounted (borderless) on Dibond®, a rigid, durable aluminum composite material combines two thin layers of aluminum with a solid polyethylene core.

1/4" Outside Border -

An extra 1/4” border will go around the printed area. This means the actual size of the paper will be one larger by 1/2".

Tip: The example image shows a 10x8 so the total sheet size of a 10x8 print when you include the 1/2 inch border would measure 10.5x8.5".

Available Size Range: 3x3 to 22x60 inches

Borderless -

The image will go to the edge of the print. In order to accomplish borderless printing, the image will be enlarged approximately by 1/10 to 1/8 of an inch to give the appropriate amount of bleed necessary for cutting.

Artboard Mounted Regular - Paper

Flush mounted/borderless on your choice of archival white or black artboard, this option provides a firm surface for prints at an affordable price. The deckled or torn bordered edge is a frequently requested option at FinerWorks. It is ideally suited for displaying your print floated- inside matting and a frame or even a shadow box. The extra torn border will go around the print size you select and be approximately one inch in width.

Tip: The example image shows a 20x16 so the total sheet size of a 20x16 print when you include the approximate 1 inch border would measure rougly 22x18.

No Border with Torn/Deckled Edge - Paper

The deckled or torn bordered edge is a frequently requested option at FinerWorks. It is ideally suited for displaying your print floated- inside matting and a frame or even a shadow box. The extra torn border will go around the size you select and is approximately one inch in width.

Tip: The example image shows a 20x16 so the total sheet size of a 20x16 print will measure rougly 20x16.

Tip: This option is ideal for people who like to do their own mounting or framing. It is also widely popular with artists who paint over the canvas prints.

No Border - Paper

The image will go to the edge of the print. In order to accomplish borderless printing the image will be enlarged approximately by 1/10 to 1/8 of an inch to give the appropriate amount of bleed necessary for cutting.

Tip: Customers should be careful of any subject matter that is at the very edge of the image such as signatures so they are not trimmed.

Panel - 1/2" Thick - Wood

Printed on 1/2" thick panels with a straight cut to give more of a float appearance when hanging on a wall. Back of the panel has hanging grooves cut out to enable easy hanging.

Tip: Anticipate approximately 1/8 to 1/4 inch bleed with your image.
